I get from the context that it means sancutary. Where did the word come from? Did you make it up? Why not use parley? Parley has become more well know in pop culture because of Pirates of the Caribbean films and The Wire.

POLL: Which is funnier/intresting word?

7% (1) parley

92% (13) tesoro

The problem with using Parley is that it tends to mean wanting to have a peaceful meeting. As opposed to Tesero which to me means "I'm about to die in less then a minute, unless you help me now!" Neither one is necessarily interchangeable with the other.

Tesoro is the Spanish word for treasure. Why use treasure as the code word for "Run away! Run away! The nasty lumpy aliens are coming to kill you all!"???

Something to keep an eye out for, a cease and desist order on the use of the word Tesoro. It's the name of a really large oil company and also one of the top brands of metal detectors. Howard Tayler had a fictional book in Schlock Mercenary titled "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Pirates". Franklin Covey sent him a C&D because the phrase "The 7 Habits" is trademarked by them. (But do note that "7 Habits" or "Seven Habits" are NOT trademarked and the USPTO has rejected applications for such many times.) One *shouldn't* have to worry about using a word or name for something completely different, but look up the beat down the World Wildlife Fund gave to the World Wrestling Federation over the use of the letters WWF.
