NYX 1 (a rhinoceros-like alien): "These NYX will have made one journey. These NYX will not have been detected."
PROCONSUL (a humanoid figure with sharp features): "But how can you be sure? The Empire’s new monitoring system…?" Panel 2:
NYX 1: "...will have been designed with input from these NYX."
PROCONSUL: "Oh? Oh-Oh-Oh?” (visibly shocked and raising his eyebrows). Panel 3:
NYX 2: "These NYX will have been tasked with maximizing detection abilities." Panel 4:
NYX 3: "But no system will have been omnipresent." "Omniscient." "Omnipotent." Panel 5:
NYX 1: "Every solution will have had limitations. And so, to have maximized reach, scanner will have registered all activations in batches of three seconds." Panel 6:
NYX 1 (in silhouette): "So, these NYX will then have checked Du Fu flight logs.: NYX 2 (in silhouette): “Will have found Armada flight that will have leapt at 2 PM exactly, every day. NYX 3 (in silhouette): “200 days in a row." Panel 7:
NYX 2: "So these NYX will have waited. And will have leapt 45 seconds after Armada Drive ship."
PROCONSUL: "Oh my. My-my-my-my." (his face showing disbelief and amazement). "My wonderful NYX. You do not realize what a gift you’ve just unwrapped." Endnote:
